I'm Kyle and I live near Claremore, OK (about 30 miles northeast of Tulsa).
I joined several months ago but just now posting. What a fantastic forum! I've learned so much from "stalking" all the threads here. I guess I'll speak up now.
I've been interested in hammocks and hammock camping for about two years now - wow! I really wish I'd learned about this earlier in life. In those two years I've acquired 5 hammocks and other accompanying gear. I love them all (I should probably sell some of those). I just made my own "ultralight" a month back. It turned out great and super-light but I'm already planning on making another based on what I learned from that experience.
I camp almost exclusively in hammocks now. I say "almost" because during deer season when we stay in the woods for over a week straight, I still like the room of a big canvas tent when the weather turns bad (but I still bring a hammock and sleep in that a few nights).
