Also, what is the distance from the peak of the tarp to the center of the pull out?
Also, what is the distance from the peak of the tarp to the center of the pull out?
It has a Dutch Stingerz on one end and is shown in the bottom illustration on this page.
33" from ridge to center of the pull outs. 80' between pullouts for the WBRR and generally closer for gathered end hammocks.
Thank you, i will post pics when its done
I actually did mine like this as well with the 145*s before I saw this thread. I also got extra inserts because I thought the 145*s came without them, anyway I cut all the 18" poles in half and used the extra inserts.......Now I have poles that pack down tidy to about 13". Did 2 for the superfly and one for the tadpole. That's 3, 18" pieces per side + 145 for the SF and 2, 18" pieces + 145 on the tadpole (with plastic end inserts). Everything fits perfect with no other modification to the lengths......Looks sharp

Nicely compacted rotorwash.
I'm looking at doing this soon. I have found a supplier with the 18 inch rods and the end caps, and reasonable postage to Australia.
Trouble is that I can't find the 145 bends. Safari can't find Quest Outfitters, have they moved or folded?
If I use a 6 foot pole without a bend, will longer cords between the pole and the tie-outs compensate ?
Nice mod! How much weight does it add?
FYI: If you want to know what type a certain bear is, sneak up behind it and kick it. Then,
run like crazy and climb up a tree. If the bear climbs the tree and eats you, it's a black
bear. If the bear just pushes the tree over and eats you, it's a grizzly bear : )
Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me, either, just leave me alone.

Still there...http://www.questoutfitters.com/
The Superfly Pole Mod thread has many examples of straight poles being used. If it helps, I believe the Cloudburst's pull outs are a few inches farther down the side.

Here are pics of my Cloudburst with my DIY tarp pole mod. I didn't use the 145 degree connectors - just used four sections of the Quest Outfitters Nano lite tent poles for each pole. Made some dog bones for connecting to the tarp out of 1.75 lash-it. This mod makes a HUGE difference in the space under the tarp. The same can be accomplished without having to carry the additional hardware by simply using the side pullouts the way demonstrated on Warbonnets website - but with this there is no searching for the right spot with trees/limbs nearby to tie off to - or for sticks to use.
