    Help me decide

I'm planning to place an order for a burrow very soon and need help deciding on which temp rating to get. I'm hoping to start doing some winter hanging (Ohio temps, not those crazy -20 that some of you nut jobs hang at ) and need to decide between a 20* and 0* burrow. Obviously, the easy way is the 0*, but I currently have a diy down TQ that I would guess would be in the 30-40* (but let's be conservative and say 40*) range which I could layer with a 20*.

In theory, I like the versatility of the 20*, but I also don't want to freeze and be miserable.

So, which way would you all go?

Well, for me, the question is whether you plan to hike and hang or car camp. If you're going to backpack, you would probably prefer to carry just one TQ instead of two.

Taken from a different perspective, the base price difference is $25. You can always go warmer with a colder TQ but it's a lot harder to go colder with a warmer TQ.

Besides...if you layer the 0* with the 40*, you too could aspire to be one of those nut jobs.

    Just my two pence.

I have a JRB HRQ for 3 season and the O degree Burrow for below 30. Sometimes i'm a bit too warm but that's better than the alternative.

I would err on the side of caution and go with the zero. The price difference is minimal and the options for temps you can get out in or broadened.

As stated above, I'd rather be too warm than too cold. I'm looking at
My first underquilt, and will go 0 deg. To extend my hang time in the winter
    Months. Just my 2 cents.

I went with the 0 degree burrow and I'm glad I did. It's very easy to vent when it's warm (I went with the snap foot) but you'll be glad to have it when it's cold.

I got a zero recently and temps after the first night at 29 (I was expecting a few degrees colder actually) were 44, 54 & 55. I was never overly hot, though the last two nights I fell asleep on top of the quilt. Of course, the 29 a.m. was warm as well. So, I think especially for the price difference, its worth it to get the zero, PLUS... mine came in at 24.3oz which is ridiculously light for a zero. Mine was std length, wide with snaps.

Plus, it sounds like you have some other options when its borderline too warm for the zero, though you may still want to take it because its lighter than those other options probably.

I may be old school but I really believe its better to have more than you need rather than not having what you need when you need it. I don't have a true TQ I use a marmot helium but the principle is the same. I use that bag even when it gets into the 60's and even 70's as you can always vent but you can only trap in so much warmth.
