So, I strung up my hammock using the steel tubing on the apartment porch for supports. My butt is only a couple inches off the ground, but clear enough. Well, I laid down to test it out and my 50 lbs, 6 mo old lab mix springs right in on top of me, OoooFF!

Dogs love hammocks, if they want in, they're coming in, one way or the another.
It seems every time I go camping my lil dashhound terrior mix thinks she has to sleep in the hammock also.
Had my 40 lbs Aussie woke me up in the middle of the night the other day. Something spooked him, he climbed into my hammock and wiggled his way under the my quilt. 40 lbs of dog, sleeping on my chest is not the most comfortable nights sleep in my hammock.

My big girl has outgrown HAMMOCKS, now days she just likes to sleep under mine which is great because she gives off a lot of heat. She is a hundred and five pounds of fuzzy Bouvier des Flandres. When she was younger she liked to nap in the hammock, but now she is worried about the instability of the hammock. I am fine with that since the two of us together weigh too much for the hammock any way.
My elderly Pug, puts on his booties and gets to snuggle in the hammock, he keeps my feet warm for me.
I am picking out a puppy in the morning, he/she will be tiny when fully grown around 5 pounds.
So, I guess I won't be having any gleeful K9's bounding into my hammock. Sort of sad in a way. How ever my body is just too fragile to have something large jump on me. LOL
Enjoy you pup, besure to train him/her to be a good K9 Citizen. Very important.
My Golden Retriever is exactly the same way. She's a 75-pound lap dog
