    OH>Germantown>Nov 15-17

Will be hanging at Germantown/ Twin Creek Metropark NOV 15-17th. Great time too meet new hangers and time for new hangers to see how some old dogs hang good food and good stories by the campfire. New to hammocking come and ask questions till your hearts content.

We will be car camping first 2 nights at the Twin Creek Tecumseh site and hiking on Sunday up to the Germantown Shimps Hollow group site. Trying to add in some packing on this trip. If you are not up to the hike both sites do have parking.

    See You There!!

Mountnman, I was thinking of doing a solo trip through the Germantown area next weekend. Plan get up Friday after work, park at Boomershine Rd. Hike to Oakridge Campsite. Then Saturday hike to Cedar Ridge campsite. Sunday hike back to my car. Just trying to gauge how feasible this trip is. Can you give me some input?

From Boomershine the Oakridge site is only at most 45 min hike. All depending on your level of fitness of course. So I would say this is a very feasible plan. The nice thing about the Cedar ridge site is that you are only about a mile hike to route 725 and just across the road is a little pizza joint called Captain 9's and they have really tasty pizza. Whenever my buddies and I camp at Cedar ridge we go to Captain 9's for dinner. They will also fill up your water bottles This is a nice hike. If you haven't been there before, Oak ridge's best site for Hammocks is the first one you come to. As for Cedar ridge you can get by on any of them if you look around a minute if you are solo. Have fun and let us know how it goes and let me know if you have any other questions

Twin creek is a nice park. The hiking/backpacking is pretty easy and beginner friendly, but still makes for a nice night or weekend trip.

    New member hello

Hi all. I'm Chris. My husband and I are relatively new to hammock camping. We were backpackers in our early twenties (approaching 40s now) and are just getting back into it now that the kids are older (preteen/teen). I just joined the forum and am excited that there is a local hang coming up. We will try to make it. I'd love to see everyone's setups. Right now we are both in ENOs. We hope to upgrade as money allows. Currently we are both drooling over the WBBB XLC. I am pretty sure I want the 1.1 DL and hubby has to go for the 1.7 DL. Okay, enough of my rambling....
