    Space Blanket meets foam pad

So I got a 10 dollar foam pad and I space blanket tarp. I was thinking of cutting down the pad to be just for below my knees (I use a half size under quilt) and making it a little wider. Then I was going to hot glue the two together putting the space blanket under the pad. Any thoughts? Has anyone tried this?

I sat on the pad with the space blanket under it for about 2 hours last night and I wasn't sweating or anything. I am going to try it out in my backyard first to see if it will work. My biggest fear is waking up with wet feet from the space blanket. I am planning to use it for -1 to -20 this winter.

Just an idea. trying to see what might work.

Back in in my pre uq days, I tried something similar---I used spray contact cement to glue a mylar space blanket to a blue pad. It worked ok------if youre worried about condensation, you could cut some 1/2 inche holes in the pad to give it some ventillation. (I dont think you will have any condensation problems--thats usually on your back etc,) One thing I remember is....as the pad flexes, the mylar tends to delaminate, but it still works!
FYI: If you want to know what type a certain bear is, sneak up behind it and kick it. Then,
run like crazy and climb up a tree. If the bear climbs the tree and eats you, it's a black
bear. If the bear just pushes the tree over and eats you, it's a grizzly bear : )

Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me, either, just leave me alone.

I used to tape the space blanket to the pad. That way it was removable.

I can see cutting the pad but you may want to take both pieces as I think you will want the pad under your feet in cold weather.
    YMMV
