This project has been in the project box for a while now and I finally finished it for a trip this weekend. For the life of me, I cannot remember the dimensions right now but it does weigh in at 17 oz including all the mini-biners, ridge and tie-out lines, and tarp.
I present the Asym PIB (Pain in the Butt) Hex Tarp. I designed this with a side specific for porch mode and the other half designed for optimum side protection. I am hoping the pictures tell the tale but ask any questions you may have.
Enjoy!
I am loving this design, but in true diy'er form, there will be a slight change to design. I used grosgrain for the first time on all the edges, but due to issues getting the sil to sandwich in there properly, I also rolled the edges first. This made things easy but also adds unneeded weight. The circle patches look cool but were a bit of a pita, won't do that again.
As for the shape and size, I am in love. A cuben version would be sweet.
