    I'm in Awe....

This is gonna come off as being a bit starry eyed but I just can't help it.

I was fortunate enough to pick up a HG Standard CF Tarp w/ Doors from another forum member. I knew (or to be more accurate, I understood from the mass of reading on the forum) that CF was light. This is truly blowing my mind.

My original 70D HH Hex with the tieouts, shock cord tensioners, and continuous ridgeline in the stuff sack I made weighed in at 24.2 ozs. I received the HG tarp yesterday and with it still in the stuff sack it tipped the scales...wait for it...7.0 ozs on the nose. I am in awe and I haven't even opened the silly thing up yet.

Hope to have some time later this weekend, maybe, to look at it properly and set up tieouts, tensioners and new ridgeline. Once that is done, I'd be shocked if this thing goes over 12 ozs in the sack. To drop a pound of weight so quickly was crazy to me.

Again, I know this is starry eyed speaking, but you (again, more accurately, I) just can't know what amazing stuff this is until experienced first hand.

I suppose I'll go sit in the corner later tonight and stare at it some more, waiting patiently for the opportunity to string it up and see what she will do. Truly amazing stuff.

So said the guy who was not feeling like a noob until he open that package. Boy, does he have a lot to learn.

    I'm in Awe....

My exact feelings. I just got the standard CF tarp with a 12' ridgeline. Right around 8oz. From the box and 10.1oz. With complete suspension, CF stuff sack and CF python. That is 14oz lighter then the superfly. With same suspension. Yeah Buddy.

Same thing happened to me. You are correct, it is hard to believe. Another bonus, at least to me, is that the full moon looked teriffic when I got into my hammock and looked up.

I also started with the 70D HH Hex. I also went to HG CF. Guess what! No tensioners needed...this stuff doesn't sag during the night, or during rain...And it wipes right off with a towel when wet...

check it out 12 Foot HG CF with dejoha rigging

This demon magic must be shared with the world! Pics!
I may be dumb, but at least I'm ugly!

I've done so much, with so little, for so long, now I can do anything with nothing.

It's not peer pressure, it's just your turn.

Not sure where to post this, but I just received my WBBB XLC with superfly and Black Mamba. Wanted to say thanks for all the great info I find on here and hope to hang this weekend between a couple of coconut trees with the view of the ocean that stretches all the way to guam one way or equador the other.

Plus you can touch it all you want from the inside and it won't wet out. It is cool when you drop your pack weight in lbs. vs. ounces! Now when it rains it hits that CF like a drum head, nice sound to me.
