    Successful night in the cold

Well I am still in the hammock after my first overnight in some colder temperature's with my diy setup. It got down the 1 degree with wind chill at -6. I'm using an underquilts.com foyle underquilt and a 2.5 apex and 5.0 apex top quilts. I also had a short pad under my feet. This was the first time I used the hot water trick too. I filled my nalgene bottle about 3/4 full and threw a sock around it. Worked great! In all the years in a hammock and i never tried this?! Its pretty awesome.....yes I said awesome to wake up comfortable in a kit that is all homemade. Thanks again to all of you because without your advice this never would have happened.

Very cool! That's real cold, where your gear lets you know if you missed a spot.

Thanks everyone! Now I sit and wait for colder temperatures. Would like to get some sub zero nights to do some more testing. I love winter!
