    Have you seen this cord?

I'm trying to figure out what the yellowish cord is called and where I can find more of it. It came on a tarp I bought. The orange line is no tangle, slightly wider diameter and not as stiff.

    Thanks.

Is that line a neon like green with a white core?

If so here is what it may be (the z-line)- http://www.zpacks.com/accessories/spectra_cord.shtml

Merely demonstrating the stiffness. It's a property of this cord I rather like. When wound around itself it stays tidy when packed away or even in the wind. Not knots. Just grab the end and pull. To that effect it makes tarp deployment quicker and less prone to tangle. That's been my experience.

can you use it with a Dutch Flyz for the ridgelines?
    Does it work well?

or just mostly for the tie outs....?

and why doesn't it show as somewhat coiled on the website?

    does it self coil?

The 1.5mm stuff *might* work with Dutch Flyz but I've never tried. At ~200lb tensile strength it's half that of 1.75mm Lash-It, so I don't know how well it will stand up to wind gusts. I'm using it as tie outs. It does not coil itself. The coils seen in the photo are from wrapping it around the pencil a few times. It has what one might call 'memory'. If you coil it, it stays coiled, pull it strait, it wants to stay strait.

Anyone else care to comment on the viability of Z-Line as a tarp ridge line?

I use zline for my tarp. The 1.25mm for the tieouts, and the 1.5 mm for the ridgline because it fits the dutch flyz better. I really like the stuff, stiff, strong, doesn't tangle...

Interesting. You find that it works well with Tarp Flyz? Are you using a continuous ridge line? If so what are your attachment points? Prusiks?

I use separate lines. On one end I have a Dutch hook, attached to the line on a prusik. That lets me create that V , pulling the cord at the hitch, or if I need it, I can run the hook around the tree and hook it onto itself. That gives me max use of the lines length.
On the other end is the flyz on a prusik. Again, leave the flyz close to the tarp for the V , or run it down the line if I need some distance. That 1.5mm grabs nicely on it.

For the tieouts, I have use the 1.25mm because it's smaller, and actually stiffer, resulting in fewer tangles. On each corner I've got another Dutch hook on a prusik. Hook it onto the loop of cord on my stake, and pull it tight. Couldn't be simpler.
Use the same concept on my doors. I use shockcord, with a Dutch quilt hook on a shock cord prusik. Hook it on the corner tabs of the tarp. Quick, tight, simple.
