Rain? HA! I thumb my nose in your general direction! ..... We set up in the rain ..... we broke camp in the rain. My hammock is dry, my sleeping bag is dry. The back up tent we pitched is soaked and it has some kind of nasty poo all over the bottom of it. (How did THAT git there?)
My wife and I spent our first "tandem" nights in the Hot Springs, NC campground at the French Broad River Festival. It was wonderfull. She says Holiday Inn is just barely nice enough, but ..... She LOVED sleeping in her hammock. Says she'll never go to a tent again.
Otherwise the music was great.... nice people ..... no cops etc. no problems. I highly recommend the event next year.
Now I'm planning to go see Springer and the Hike Inn in a couple of weeks... way different from that car camping business.
Thanks to Ed, Karen, & everyone for having us there at the hangout for the day last week.... The gear was fantastic but your company was better.

Sorry I have not been very diligent about posting lately everyone. Here are some of the pictures I took from the Hot Springs Hang. It was soo much fun and everyone was so friendly. We are going to try to make this a yearly event!
I am usually not much of a people person when I first come in to a new group. That is where Thorwren shines. She warms them up and then introduces her strange husband who is usually playing with his camping gear in an effort to look occupied... She was sorry she was not able to go! I think I am going to get her to go to the Northern hang though! The distance from the babies might be a deal breaker though. Anyway, here is a short photobucket slide show for you picture loving wolves!
If thumbnails are easier in the future I will do that instead of Loading the thread with images.

Thanks for the pics. It was a nice reminder of the gathering, just as I am getting in gear for the June hang.

I'm so glad you didn't have a picture of what happened when I threw that shovel.
Good Pics!
I had a blast!
I can't wait to do it again next year!
