It was kind of funny as I introduced myself. Most everyone said oh you're the ground dweller where is your tent

The hike was great and I enjoyed it. Thanks to the ones who drove us up there and to Hooch for getting it together. If you click on my picture it takes you to my webshots album of the hike. I have a picture when you first see Hot Springs through the trees.

Thanks to Ed and Karen for another great weekend.
Nice meeting you Eddie, after having just missed you at Neo's Merriwether Lewis hang a while back. All I can say is: Take it from Bob!

My wife Mimi and I had a great time! It was wonderful to meet all of you in the real world. Thank you, Ed, for making this event happen.

    Sad.....

GREAT pics, and great reports! I heard about the hatchet and "shovel!?!?" throwing. Holy cow.

I hated missing it, but I couldn't bear the thought of leaving sick kiddies with my sis. True enough, 2 of the 4 kids' fevers didn't break until Monday, so it was good I stayed home. Now..... If this happens again at the upcoming next hang, it's Stormcrow's turn to stay home!!!

I see a lot of pics of Stormcrow on here. He's been quiet on the forum, since he began his 2-3 week hike from the hang to Damascus on the AT. I get nightly reports that he is doing well, albeit a little slow from meeting folks and hanging out with them. I am taking the rest of the family down to meet him in Damascus for a week of fishing and camping. He'll be back in 2 weeks, and will post his adventure!

Raw was worried it would take down his hammock, which was almost within rebound range of the 'hawks.

Heck! I was just gonna cry when my beautiful OES tarp suddenly had big holes in it! That thing is a work of art!

BTW, I swear I heard your target tree groaning late that night. It was ready to fall on me, I'm sure of it.

Lest anyone should wonder, we threw at a dead tree, not a live one. Raw was at risk of having the same thing happen to him as happened to Kurt... but worse. This dead tree is large, and likely won't be standing much longer!

What a great weekend Freewalker and I had. We backpacked in the Smokies and took a side trip to Ed Speers' hang in Hot Springs, which was the highlight of our trip.

It was nice to meet you Ed (especially when we first pulled up in the car) and thanks for all the information on your hammocks, bears, snakes etc. Thanks for the breakfast, it was very good. The couple hours we stayed wasn't long enough but we had a great time meeting all the nice people from everywhere.

Sir White Wolf, thank you for the tips and info, Pawfoot's reports are cool, nice to meet ya'll. Thank you all for the info on the hammock forum, it was very interesting.
