Awesome. Great, great hike.
And I think I have figured out how the sock preformed. Because of the wind you most properly had no buildup of moisture inside the sock, and thus it worked perfect.

Looks like a great trip.
Thanks for taking the time to document and share.
Nice report thank you.
Definitely can hear the wind just a blowing in the back ground when you gave your Saturday morning report from the sock. You looked snug and warm for sure. Beautiful area. Thanks for putting the video together and posting.

Thanks for taking, editing and posting those videos.
Beautiful country, and interesting comments on the hammocks.
I was very interested in your comment about the difficulty getting dressed/undressed in your hammock area with blowing snow aka 'weather', and using the feed container as temporary shelter.
The whole issue of getting clothes changed out of the weather (and out of view of other campers, if wanted) is something that 'we just don't talk about here at HF'.
For me, a real 'elephant in the room' when thinking about giving up my tent - where I can keep my stuff dry (and snow-free if it came to that) and dress and undress out of sight and completely under cover, with no need for shoes.
To get the 'hammock experience' at home, just pour some mud on your basement floor and practice getting dressed/undressed!
looks like a great time..awesome views and and good video
It's not the boulders that throw us off balance, it's the pebbles beneath our feet
VicGuy, If someone wants to watch me change then so be it I'm not shy. I usually carry a small blue tarp or old groundsheet that I lay down and use to step on when changing. One of the difficulties with this trip is I set my tarp lower than usual and wasn't in porch mode due to the high winds. There wasn't a lot of room to stand (I'm 6'2") under the tarp to change comfortably. The storage trailer just happened to be there and we took advantage of it. We could have even used the outhouse if necessary. As for the clothing, it would just get laid out in the hammock with me, it's all light enough. I'm not even too concerned it gets dried out as I am sleeping in dry clothes.
