Ordering a GT Ultralight - Need to spend more..

I need to spend $7.00 to get free shipping.

    2 Things
    - First, I am broke as hell - but can manage up to $15.
    - Second, trunk savers of some kind (should be cheaper to diy that?), or bug net, or tarp? I kinda want a good tarp though.

Going for lightweight as I can afford.

I have $75gift cert at REI (many have said to use it for water filter system). I could probably get that + something else that I still need.

Mind you, I am starting from scratch but have, 2 sleeping bags, just made a cat food can stove and someone is donating a mess kit to me (Thanks Sargevining)

So, cording, webstraps for trees, tarp, bugnet or something more important?

    Thanks!

I think it would be better to spend the money. Going to need stuff anyway right?

    You'll need suspension, right?

I'd get some 7/64" Amsteel and make UCRs.

I think it comes with something, but I had to look up UCR.
    UCR - Utility Constrictor Rope

Is that bungy? If not, what is it used for?

    Thanks

The tree straps and suspension on the GTUL are pretty bad. Get some amsteel and make your own. Or get some poly straps and use them to connect to rungs on hammock.

No, not bungees. Yes, Utility Constrictor Rope.

I have that same hammock and it did not come with suspension.

There are several types of suspension but many of us are favoring UCRs lately.

Here's an excellent thread about them: https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...ad.php?t=76105

Check out the Noob first hang thread. He had a pretty good setup with a GTUL. And cheap also.

You should re-read your other thread. I offered to send you most of that stuff for free and sell you a tarp cheap. Since you have a stove I can send you some dynaglide to make hammock suspension with instead
