    Kammok

This is my personal favorite hammock vendor. One of the best parts is they are local to my home state of Texas. They make great hammocks and related gear they just got finished with their 2nd kickstarter that put out their tarp The Glider that has some really cool features.

Kammok has started a new kickstarter for their sleeping bag system. The Thylacine its a modular sleeping bag system that can also be used as a top quilt or under quilt for their Roo hammock.

kerryandjane that's the beauty of the Thylacine. It's a Top quilt if that's what you need. It is also a sleeping bag or an underquilt and you can change the amount of insulation in it to match the conditions you will be camping in. This also allows you to manage your weight.

At the moment I am just using a regular sleeping bag and a poncho liner as a TQ. That worked for me down to the low 40's but I am hoping to upgrade to the Thylacine if the kickstarter goes well.

It would be an awfully big topquilt, and I question how well you could snug a "one size fits all" item as an underquilt where it is so critical to reduce air infiltration. Also, why no 100% down option?

It does look well made, and is very pretty.

sliver_overlord00...are you somehow affiliated with the company?

I would venture to guess this person is affiliated since they claim to be from Waco, TX which is 1.5 hrs from Austin, TX which is where Kammock HQ is. However, that is just a guess.

As a TQ/UQ it doesn't seem like other sleeping bags. It's not exactly ultralight or even light compared to TQ's i've seen, Mummy sleeping bags really constrict me. - That being said i'm still backing the project - wife's orders. Those guys are top shelf - gotta support quality brands/products.
I'd like to have a go at making my own flexible TQ with the same idea. Snaps maybe? Velcro tabs in each corner maybe?

About the no 100% down option... makes you wonder. I saw a swatch sample/info folder of Primaloft Gold a few months back (wife is in the text tile industry) I was scratching my head because i've never heard of it until then. Must be the latest and greatest it's not even on their website. Primaloft 1 is comparable to 550 Fill Power Down right? I wonder what the Gold is.

That being said this person should have stated that in the beginning. But I like their stuff and would like to try some of it out. Probably will when I have the money lol.

    Talking about the affiliation? Agreed.

Kickstarter seems to breed "passionate fans" or "seedy opportunistic employees pretending to be fans". I've seen my share of both.

You gotsta state if you're affiliated if you are bud.
