That's a good question. I've heard that half way up a hill is the warmest spot. I'm not sure if it's warmer by the river this time of year since the water is warmer than the air. I was there mainly because it's more sheltered than the front yard and for the sound of the water. Although it had gotten pretty quiet by this morning.
