    ranger danger

    Its cold out here.
    All you lynx under quilt users take notice of your ranger bands. If they show signs of cracking when stressed replace them.
    I noticed this on mine and disregarded it,that resulted in the failure of two of them soon after.
    No big deal really as ive used it so much that it was my fault for not maintaining them.
    Just thought id mention it for comfort purposes in the cold.

    I wondered what the life expectancy on them was going to be. Apparently not long. I have 3/16" shock cord that I'll try when mine fail.

    Thanks for the tip hairbear! Just took a close look and so far mine are fine. Guess I'll add a bit of bungee into the spares bag.

    thats how I got through the night. I took the bunji off of my self tensioning tarp lines. I wrote it off when it was first noticed it thinking ah it will get me through one more night. Well both broke that night. The stress lines were very faint to notice at the time of their failure.
