Dutch Tarp Flyz or Loop Alien?

I know there is a big Dutch following here at HF, but has anyone had experience using both? The flyz look like they would stay in place better, but some of their edges look like they could poke through stuff. The LA's, with smooth edges, might not have that problem.

I know that in the big picture that this is not that big of an issue nor should I have devoted a new thread for discussion about it. But, I'm a gear head and I'm bored.

I don't have the loop alien, but I have been using Dutch's tarp flyz for a couple years now. It's well rounded and smooth, I never felt concerned leeaving it attached when packing it up. I think for rigging your tarp, it's easier and more straight forward. The 1.5mm zline spectra cord from zpacks works great with it, holds really nice.
I started out with one on either side, but quickly didn't like it. Now I use a tiny dutch hook on a prusik on one side, and the flyz on a prusik on the other. Keep them close to the tarp for that V, or slide them up the line for a greater reach, utilizing your entire line.

I have used both but sold the Loop Alien's. I didn't like them. Too much fiddle factor for me. The Dutch Flyz are smaller, lighter, easier and quicker to use.

Dutch Flyz. One on each end. I recently switched to separate lines at each end. I put these close to the tarp and it allows for the "V" and I can really get the tarp taut.

The flyz are easier to deal with / quicker to set (and the same 3-to1 advantage when tensioning). Either 1 opposite a Dutch titanium hook for a continuous ridge line (what I use) or a flyz on each end as mentioned above.

I've never had the flyz cause any damage. They're smooth enough and so small that it's not a concern.

I looked at the Loop Aliens and thought about trying them. To me though, it just seemed there was more involved with wrapping and looping when it came to adjusting. I love my flyz. I'm never quite settled on how my tarp is hanging, so I adjust a lot. A couple jam cleated figure 8's are much easier than unfeeding a line around a loop, adjusting, and refeeding.

To each his or her own though.

I switch between Stingerz and Flyz. My Flyz are on prusiks so I have many tarp rig options.
