MM...I see the bakery was going strong with a giant muffin and biscuit born around the camp fire. Very interesting how you do that.

I glad to hear and see that the weather gods looked favorably upon the HFers on this trip. Excellent trip report.

Great trip report, MM. Looking at the video makes me appreciate the LBL area. Good to see you guys on Tuesday.

EZ-Z name the time and place. Lunch will be on me! By the way, Hangnout has not yet shelled out the dough for his daughters new boat.

You guys picked a great time to go. Tomorrow we are looking for 1/2 inch of ice in the area.

That was a fabulous report. I've only only ever done an overnight winter paddle trip and got pretty darn cold, so I'm impressed. I learned some just from watching the videos. Another reason I'm glad to watch these videos.
There was food all over the place. I would love to do something like this once I get a touring boat.
    Thanks for sharing.

I had a great time being with everyone even if I did cut my trip short.

Thanks to Potneck, Sam, and John for all of the help.

    Thanks again.

Ragnall remember to PM me your shipping address.
And just to remind everyone that Ragnall was key in the ease with which we all had water....invaluable.

    SPECIAL UPDATE ~
Predicted Winter Storm Prompts LBL to Close for Visitor Safety

Due to inclement weather moving into the region, Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area will close all facilities by 5pm Thursday, December 5. All visitors will be asked to leave, including campers in backcountry areas. Turkey Bay Off-Highway Vehicle Area and Trails will close at 5pm, Wednesday, December 4. Land Between The Lakes is in the process of notifying individuals that their camping and other program reservations are cancelled for this weekend.

    Closed facilities and activities include:
    • All Administrative Offices
    • Brandon Spring Group Center
    • Backcountry Camping Areas
    • Elk & Bison Prairie
    • Golden Pond Visitor Center
    • Golden Pond Planetarium and Observatory
    • Golden Pond Target Range
    • Trails and Scenic Roadways
    • Turkey Bay OHV Area – closed Wednesday
    • Wranglers Campground

According to Tina Tilley, Area Supervisor at Land Between The Lakes,"The safest decision is to close Land Between The Lakes due to hazardous road conditions with freezing rain, sleet, and snow predicted for our area. When conditions allow, we will reopen." For updated information, check this page of our website, or Twitter @LBLScreechOwl or @LandBtwnLakes, or check with your local media. Yea, I sitting here listening to it pour down and watching the temp drop and thinking you guys really know how to pick your trip dates.

Just got my favorite call. No school tomorrow, so my bus will stay parked and so will I.

It was a great trip and the video was quite entertaining! I would also like to thank Potneck, Ragnall and Hangnout for all they did to make the trip possible. Hopefully there will be more kayaking trips in the future.
