Anyone use a thermometer when hammocking? Looking for suggestions

I am looking for a thermometer that is small enough to hang from a ridgeline etc. i think i saw one in a Shug video that recored the high and low temperature. Something like that would be great. Your suggestions are appreciated, links to specific models are even better. Thanks, Jimmy.

    Thermometer

The one Shug had you can buy at Walmart/Lowes's or Home Depot. However, it had a probe that you plug in to sense temp. You can alos buy one of those thermometer/compasses from REI or even some watches now had a thermometer on it

I see a lot of folks using el cheapo Accurites likes this:

It's what I use. I'm not sure if the batteries will work below -5, but it's worked for me down to 3 degrees Fahrenheit.

Don't tell me where you stick the probe.

I just recently received a coghlans from a pif. I have yet to use it in the field, but I have been messing with it and thus far, I really like it. Gives the Loews and highs, as well a current temp, time, and alarm clock.

I first heard of it through shug, you'll see it dangling on his back pack in his various videos.

I had one of those that malfunctioned the first time I was out. That same trip I forgot it was hung on a tree near our fire ring and left it... Your post and Amazon Prime just made me buy another.

    Jimmy,

This one is reliable, inexpensive and should meet all of your needs. Deadphans mentioned it earlier.

    Here's a link.

I got mine from Walmart for $5.99. I use it all the time. Just remove the suction cup and use a loop on it to make it easier to attach and remove.

Mine is a small diameter shockcord loop. Like what's in tent poles. I attach to my backpack while hiking and hammock or tarp RL when sleeping.

I've used it in different temps here in Florida. The low so far was 39* on Thanksgiving morning and the high was 105* at the 2nd Annual Summers Last Gasp Hang.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you
