    Snowshower,

Thank you so much for setting up the Trip Report. That's great. I changed your name temporarily because you are now officially in the books as being as nutty as the rest of us. Who in their right mind goes out and hangs in a hammock overnight when the temperature is in the teens with snow on the ground?

    Why we do of course.

Many thanks to both you and MP3Prozac for taking and posting the great pictures. I have a lot also that I'll post here, but I'm too tired tonight so I'll pick some and upload them tomorrow.

Sky and Tri-Pod Bob. Sorry both of you couldn't come. Hope getting the stitches out Sky was a good sign that you're on the mend. We're hopeful that you'll be at the Nor'Easter. Tri-Pod Bob, we know you were there in spirit also. Wish you could have made it. We ate well. Too well.

NightHauk, Raif and R3Lax, many thanks for coming out and sharing some of your day with us. We enjoyed meeting you and look forward to January.

For this week-end's hangers........... Can't thank you enough for coming out.

Country, Cosmic, Talox, Jolly Green, Suede, Snowshower and MP3Prozac, you guys were great.

Hope to see you all soon.

    All the best !

:DAR State Park @ Goshen, MA

===> Thanks for the well wishes folks! The eye is healing very well, and I am glad I had the surgery.

Looks like you guys had a great time, with great food (as usual for NEHHAers!). I plan to make both the NEHHA Winter Hang, and the New Jersey Winter Hang as well this January.

Looked like a good place to hang out there! Gastar and I are maybe putting a Dec hang together the weekend of the 21st, 22nd. Maybe in NH. We'll see. More info later.

Steaks and giant potatoes. Looked to be a good hang to me!

    Good pics there, Megan! Thanks!

Wow - thanks Sun/snowshower for this awesome thread! This weekend was just fan-freakin'-tastic; probably some of the best eaten' I've ever done on a camping trip - many many thanks for the incredible Gil for the food!

The DAR is a really special spot, the small pond beside our site, the giant fire pit, the beautiful moon and clouds above... it all made for a great weekend! I was amazed that the gates were open for us!

Talox, Sunshower, mp3prozac, Jolly, Suede, Country and SemperFiGuy - you all are a hoot and a half, can't wait to hang with you guys A S A P.

Thanks so much for an awesome weekend; I think seeing all of the hammocks and smiling faces really takes the forum to the next level - that's definitely what it's all about!

Some more pictures of "The Hang":

The Pond in the Group Area of DAR State Forest in Goshen, Massachusetts. Very pretty and very serene.

How many Hammock Hangers does it take to supervise Talox tending the fire? Looks like 6.................

Country Roads and Cosmic Camper taking a smile break.......

Snowshower (really Sunshower) and MP3Prozac enjoying the piney woods. (Inside Sunshower's head, she asking, "What did I get myself into? I agreed to camp in what ?")

"Ribeyes? Who said something about ribeyes? Huh? Huh? Huh?" (Ember and Marley getting the scent)

Raifnuke pondering if it was something he said????

Well, a great time was had by all. The food and company were awesome. Thanks again to everyone for their attendance. We're all looking forward to the Winter Nor'Easter. See you then, if not sooner.

I had a great time as well! Great to put a face and a personality to all the members that came. I can only ditto what everybody else has said, it was a great hang with a lot of fun people in a beautiful spot that was graced with a nice coating of snow.

Special thanks to Gil for his immense generosity with those huge, juicy, delicious, mouth-watering, perfectly fire-grilled steaks and footballs er I mean baked potatoes.

I too have some pics coming but havent had time to "down size" them for HF. Maybe tonight I will get them up. In the meantime, I do have a clip of a routy pair partying down if you click here.

    Lessons learned at this hang:
I need warmer boots for sitting around camp in the teens and below..
Warm beverages are better than cold beverages in the teens and below..
Cinnamon whiskey is a great alternative to rum with hot apple cider..
ALWAYS invite Gil to the hang..

Hey Suede, It was a pleasure hanging with you. The video of Ember and Marley is priceless. thanks for the link.

Can't wait to see your pics. I did have to resize mine also. They were a little over 2 Megabytes each in their native size. I got them down to about 100kb after resizing them to 600X450 pixels.

Glad you and Jolly could make it and we'll see you guys soon.

    All the best !

Nice photos Gil. Thanks for posting. And Suede that was a great video of Marley and Ember. Gil I had my leftover steak potato and garlic bread for dinner last night. I still had a full meal. Suede, you're right, ALWAYS invite Gil to the hang! I like that picture of Raiff...and the comment under it. lol
