Long-time Scouter, relatively new to the hammock scene, seeks interesting ideas to improve the experience.

No, really. I have been a Scouter with my two boys for 7 years. I got an ENO Double Nest with all the fixin's last year. After I read a little about sleeping on the diagonal, I had the best night's sleep ever in the woods. My oldest has requested that Santa bring him a hammock for Christmas, and I believe that Saint Nick will oblige. He's just gotta do some research and figure out what's the best way to start.

I've been lurking in the forum for a year, joined last month, finally got around to posting my introduction.

I enjoy the forum, though I am more of a visual learner. Found Shug's YouTube channel and laughed my *** off for about 2 hours. I hope to learn more and eventually contribute something.

Thanks to all of you that post tutorials and photos of your DIY gear. You've already helped me improve my hammocking experience tremendously.

Welcome to the forum. Originally from Birmingham/Pell City area myself and we used to vacation at the beaches. I remember passing through Foley on the way down, nice place. Always thought it would be nice to retire down there.
