    Dorm Room Hanging

    Hey Folks,

Well, the crappy mattress was killing my back and I just happened to come across a camo netting support kit (those nifty aluminum poles) sitting in a pile of junk out next to some abandoned tents. Not being one to waste an opportunity to hang I let my fingers start searching the forums.

It don't have the room for a fully freestanding setup (no turtle lady or turtle dog). So, each end only has a bipod but the ends of the ridge pole are padded with an old t-shirt so as not to gouge the paint. It's actually kind of wedged in place (just a bit too long) or I would have positioned it a little differently.

So far I've bounced around and it hasn't budged. I just picked up the bug netting from another forum member so I'm all set. It actually keeps it a little darker inside (I work nights) so that's a benefit. I stashed the headboard/footboard so the bed is sitting on the frame on the floor. It's a handy step for now and also a place to crash for reading and such.

I might lower the ridgepole in the future and adjust the lay a bit. I have no good way to measure the effective ridgeline at the moment but it's a 126" tablecloth hammock under the net. The hang angle seems about right and it's pretty comfortable.

Now if I can just find a good deal on these poles back stateside....

Ive done a similar setup with the bipod at each end and effectively using the wall as the third leg. I slept in it for 2 months with no problems. Looks like you have an awesome setup!!

Pips, I believe he is over in the sandbox. Not sure if he has mentioned an exact location.

    Take care bro.

Sweet freebies! The good deals back here are getting harder to find. The sellers seem not to be restocking (or not able to ).

Nice! No reason to use 3 legs if there are a couple of walls handy. ;-)
    YMMV
