So I purchased a used nx-250 on the forum yesterday and I'm wondering what to expect as far as the laying position. Am I going to be laying straight or diagonal like most gathered end hammocks?

Pretty much straight, you can get a little bit of an angle but not much. That being said you do get a pretty flat lay in an nx-250. I do usually put a jacket or something under my knees to make it perfect.
I lay diagonal in all my Clarks. You may want your diagonal habit to conform to the WB standard location for an accessory pocket. Or not.
I didn't, and after hundreds of nights with my shoulders to the right side and feet to the left, mostly, I can't say I gave a WBBB a fair try. In time over several nights, I am sure I'd have retrained. I think.
Pretty much flat when I am napping but I sleep on my side with my head on one side and one foot one the opposite side.
When I was a kid the only time we were in the house was to eat and sleep.
I have my foot end 6-8 in. higher than the head, enough sag to let the bows just tilt inward. I lay with my left shoulder against the side and my right foot against the side. With this set up the feel is that of laying flat. I'm just under 6 ft. and 230 lb. Oh yeah, and old, and you know how hard old men are to please. Mine is my regular go to every night sleeping place.
I slept in line but not diagonal until I did what Demostix mentioned in the past...I took out the foot end poles, while leaving the head end spreader poles in place.
Made a big difference, it made sleeping on the diagonal, either on my back or side, very easy. I think this is because I can move my feet around easier w/o the foot end poles. In line or diagonal, back or side, its all easy and comfy now.
Hey all I am new to hammocking and am thinking about getting a Clark for my first hammock. Thoughts?
Swamplion, Welcome.
I am new to the hammock myself. I am sure on this forum you will get great feed back as most of us own Clarks. I have a NX250 for 3 months and love it. I started with WL Lite Owl. I figured if it did not work out for me I could use it in the yard or nap in it. BTW it took me some time to get used to sleeping in a hammock for a full nite. No complaints with WL Owl it is a first class hammock but I wanted the Clark the moment I saw it. I wanted the width and openness the hoops prove, the integrated bug net and the weather shied. The reviews and quality of the Clark were also a big selling point. Some will debate the cost. When you compare the Clark package to purchasing individually it puts it in perspective. IMHO I like quality and have always bought the best I can afford an for me the Clark was the answer.
