We are getting our 1st winter storm this weekend. In my neck of the woods here in western Mass, (between Springfield & Worcester) the weather guy says 10+ inches of fluffy snow is expected Sat night until noontime on Sunday. Then a little ice & wind coming at the end of it. Temps between 5*F & 25*F. I've got a huge patch of woodland behind my place, so that means I get a real test of my winter kit! I recently had 2QZQ do a door mod on my HH Hex tarp & got a UQP as well. I'll be using my BIAS Weight Weenie Micro, A Sierra Designs 15* sleeping bag with a wool blanket & fleece "Snuggie" for top insulation. A HG 0* Incubator UQ backed up (if necessary) with a DIY 3/4 20* UQ & the UQP for the bottom insulation. I'm planning to wear a merino wool blend base layer & fleece top/pant set, a thick fleece balaclava, wool mitts & Darn Tough wool crew socks topped with thick wool blend boot socks. Looking forward to the first wintry hang....ala Shug & other freezer hangers here! I'll post the end results when all is said & done.
