MacEntyre & I rode up & camped not far from the gravel road Fri, then hiked down to the Linville River after breakfast.

There were 3 guys in the first camp site just south of the Conley Cove/Linville Gorge Trail (LGT) intersection, & about 6 guys in the second.
The second group were spending a few days fishing there, but I don't think they caught but about 4 fish.

About a five minute walk south of there, we came to a large, flat, campsite that I had seen on another trip.
It has room for about as many hammocks as you could want.... more hammockers than are really supposed to be in one group in the gorge.
You can see plenty pictures in the web album linked in the first post of this thread.

We had occasional, light rain, but no big deal. Most of it was while we had the tarps up, & the temps were great. I believe MacEntyre recorded the low temps to be in the mid 50s.

Hopefully all will go well w/ the fall trip to Linville that Shug talked about in the earlier thread. This might not be a bad spot!

I added two short video clips to the web album. They're at the bottom.

You've also got in your list this video, next to the last item in the second row.

    It's my favorite!

That was a great trip guys. I forgot to pack a camera, but have some great mental images that will stay with me. It was nice to meet you both, and the fellowship was superb. We'll have to do it again.

I'll have a map with waypoints up tonight Patrick. I started it this morning, but ran out of time.
