Couldn't really tell whether this poll was related to the ridge line or guy lines. I assumed guy lines. I like to use line lock's for the guy lines. Small, quick, easy and they work.
another for the use of line loks.
I pull the line around the stake and back through the D-ring on the tarp then pull taut and tie two slippery half hitches... Might that be the 'line wrap' method?

I assumed tie lines and not the ridge line.
+1 Line-loks
At each tarp pullout, a loop of 1.75mm zing-it yellow prussiced to 6 ' length of 1.75mm zing-it yellow,(tarp tensioned by 2 tied loops with 1/8" shock cord near the eye), end of line has an eye large enough to lark's head to tri stakes or winter snow stakes. 6" reflective cords pieces tied at the bottom of each line to reduce the tripping factor during the nightly wander from the hammock.
Interesting to DIY and has worked well so far in each season, easily replaced when it wears out or is damaged.
Taut line hitch all the way. When tired right it never lets me down and it doesn't take any extra equipment.
Thanks,

For the ridge line, I tie a truckers hitch on both ends to tension it (not a continuous ridge line, but 2 separate lines on each end). At the stake, I tie a marlin-spike hitch. I figure knots weigh nothing and hardware weighs something.
