    Where to find mesh snakeskins?

Sorry if this has been asked before.. I did a search but could not find anything other than DIY and unfortunately I am not the DIY type.

Does anyone know where I can purchase pre-made mesh snakeskins? I have a Hennessy Sil Hex tarp and have the standard Hennessy sil snakeskins but I would like mesh for when the tarp is wet.

    Thanks in advance.

Nobody currently sells mesh ones commercially.

Big Lots (Cincinnati) has a sewing machine for $50.00.

Even in a mesh skin odds are the tarp wouldn't dry. Too many layers folded against each other.

That's my experience. If you are getting them to dry your tarp, don't. It doesn't make any difference.

As someone here once pointed out, the mesh isn't there to dry out the tarp. It's there to dry out the inside of the skin that gets wet from the tarp. If the skin is waterproof, then it has a very difficult time drying out, possibly leading to nasties inside. Not so much with the hammock skin since the hammock is (hopefully) dry when stored inside.

Thanks everyone for the responses.. as you have already pointed out.. I was more concerned about the inside of the snakeskins as they seem to be the hardest part to dry.

If anyone knows of a DIY'er willing to make a few bucks please let me know!

    Thanks again..

Thanks a million for the offer but I couldn't have you do it for free. I found Jeff's design so I will see if I can find some material and someone in the family to sew the lines for me.. If I come up short I will definitely PM you and make it worth your time. Thanks again!

I'm confused. What's the difference or importance between the skins not drying and maybe getting "nasty" or the tarp itself not drying and getting nasty? I use regular sil snakeskins and make sure I air things out so the tarp doesn't get moldy, don't really care about the skins too much but do turn them inside out occassionally to air out.
