New up and coming hammock manufacturer

So, I came across The Elevated Movement on Reddit not too long ago and started following the idea.

They're making hammocks out of 100% post-consumer recycled plastic bottles, but beyond that they're putting custom artwork on them - something I haven't seen done before. When I was told they'd be doing printed hammocks (I got a chance to speak to the proprietor), I wasn't sure what to imagine. It's a good idea, but I couldn't envision how the final product would look.

They posted some pictures up on Facebook today, and I'm blown away.

Gorgeous & impressive! Even a stomach sleeper can get a starlit view in one of these...LOL! I don't do FB, but will check out their website. Thanks for the post, Gresh!

Ok, so...the art work is added after the fabric was manufactured? Changes things a little.

since it is made from recycled plastic does it breath well?

From what I'm told, it's a 70d fabric that's comparable to ripstop nylon or parachute nylon material.

Just pulled this from Facebook regarding the fabric manufacturing process and their suspensions. There's also a mention of their retail pricing.

The process is pretty involved, we melt down plastic bottles to return them to their petroleum state, then form that into polyester fibers, from there it goes to a mill where it is then weaved into the hammock and then it's printed and sewn.

My target retail price is $120 including the straps and everything to hang it. For comparison, ENO sells theirs at festivals for $130 USD.

They use a webbing + triglide system that is both lighter and easier to set up than other commercial hammocks out there. It's pretty nifty and it keeps everything in one piece.
