Just wondering if it would be pausible to make some kind of skirt to attach to the bottom of my old man winter so that I can stand up under it but it reaches close to the ground for the cold windy nights. My back is really bad and it bothers me to be bent over. I love the grizz beaks I put them on my vertex.

Yes, just like the hot tents that have a few feet of knee walls. You can put on your tarp as well. How good are you at sewing?
Maybe, this could be a new project for the Zipper Queen from 2QZQ. She does great work and is fair with pricing if you can't do it yourself.

Tyvek knee walls has been suggested to me.
3 stakes in the ground per side. tyvek 3 ft high around the perimeter.
Working on a mosquito net to hang of the bottom edges of the tarp. Prototyped it this summer with mixed results.
Just picked up 20ft of #5 coil zipper, it's pretty light surprisingly. Will be a pain trying to match the cat cut but is doable I think. Zip on some drop down walls.

It's a DIY thing.
You can buy Tyvek in 3ft wide x desired length from bunches of places, Arrowhead Equipment comes to mind.
Get some Tyvek tape to create pockets or tubes for the stakes (4ft in length) and make 3 of them, one at each end, one in the middle.
This wall will be completely separate from the tarp but will act as a wind break.
Ratdog, i am also in need of an extention and was thinking about sewing it on,, but as for your idea having it be removable -- well i like that idea, but zippers will be hard to do buy your self , dont you think??

Velcro would work. A few attchment points.
I am having a tough time "experimenting" on the OMW, so I bought a bunch of material to make a other tarp and try a couple ideas.
Velcro, separating zippers or channeled along the top with lashit running through and attached by velcro in 3 places.
Then my brother suggested mocking the whole thing out of tyvek. Gonna try and get some from 84 lumber or some lumber supply place that has a bunch of scraps from wrapping loads.
Have sherpas, will travel...

Please let me know how that works out, someone was supposed to be making me another tarp to fit my new diy bridge, and make a door kit for it, but i sent them alittle over 20 yards of really nice sylnylon for the project and have not heard from them since,couple wekks since i sent it, kinda upset about that as money is tight and i cant just go out and buy more material,
So let me know how it works out money wise as well, maybe i can rig up the tarp i have, and then the wifes.

Consider that if you could make zipper removable tent walls for winter, you could also make bugnet tent walls for summer and swap them out as needed.
I toyed with this idea for a while when I first got into winter camping then realized that I liked the openness of the tarp even in winter often leaving one end completely open or running in porch mode. As I continued to assemble gear and go on outings it became apparent I was more into the lightweight hiking gear aspects than outfitting for camping comforts so I just kind of let the idea die go to the far back burner.
