    Greetings from Connecticut

I just recently joined this fine group after reading various threads over a period of a year, on and off. I am definitely looking forward to participating in this forum with all of you. I dont know what it is about winter but I start focusing my thoughts on camping , even though I almosy exclusively camp in the warmer months.Maybe its the cabin fever. I haven't done any hammocking in cold weather except once or twice years ago. I have a hammock very much like the ENO and ordered my first real tarp the WB superfly (goodbye heavy blue tarps). Im hoping it comes in a little after christmas. I just bought some tree straps and made my own whoopie slings with amsteel blue with the help of various youtube videos and HF recommendations. Im debating if I would enjoy overnights in this freezing winter weather. My thought being even if I stay warm while in my hammock, its still below freezing cold during the day, what fun will that be?

Welcome to the forums! Any day in the outdoors no matter the weather is a great day in my opinion. My family and friends prefer winter camping.

Welcome aloft from warmer SC. I never really did much winter camping until I came to this forum and got some downie goodness to keep me warm. Now all my friends and family think I am crazy for sleeping out in 27°.

Welcome......from the "Wilds of western Mass!"
