TX/ Jan 18, 2014 - Ray Roberts State Park (Overnight)

I am planning on camping overnight Jan 18th, I expect to be somewhere in Ray Roberts Lake State Park.

I am not familiar with this place for camping so I will make a trip up over the holidays and look for a good place to hang.

Alternatively I know of a Place to Hang in McKinney called Erwin Park.

you checked out Erwin park for if it is OK? We use that for orienteering. I know there are some camp sites around the main drive, but wasn't sure they were OK with over night.

I have tent camped there overnight many times. I want to go back tomorrow to look specifically for a good hanging spot for more than one or two.

No help on your trip, sorry but let me just say I'm excited to see this thread because my wife just accepted a job in richardson tx, so it looks like we are moving from michigan and I think your hanging right in our future neck of the woods

Erwin is in McKinney. So about 30 minute drive from RIchardson (if you live there). Or for us Texan's "One Dr Pepper"

It's been a few years since we "Oed" in Erwin. South of the circle drive is a river area with some trails and large trees. But it was also pretty brambled up off-trail...no official camp area, no fire rings, etc.

OK...nothin's happening that weekend, so I'm in whether it's Ray Roberts or Eriwn. And overnighter will work just fine.

Yorick...I can give y'all a ride and you know i've got the space.
