New to the forum and new to "hanging"!!! heard about this forum from a friend. I have had the love of the outdoors my whole life and always camped in a tent. Well after seeing hammocks more and more at the camp site and my friend recommending getting one, i decided to pretty much go all in. Instead of buying a pre made hammock, and everything, i decided to DIY as much as possible.

My order of amsteel just came in today from west marine. Just got done with my Whoopies!!!

Next on the order is to find some nylon. There is a Michaels that i can get some from but @ $6 a yard.... been looking around to find some cheaper.

walmart has cheap ripstop, sometimes. just gotta look for those little squares. I made the mistake going to Joann's fabric the price is still too high even with 50% off coupon. but your going to be spending money either way when ur browsing this website.

Funny thing is... I already go there to do most of my camping. Although ill be hanging now instead of on the ground. Did a trip about a month ago. its a great area to camp.
