I pulled the trigger and ordered the hammock this morning with drip rings. Forgot to get the xl tarp so will call them and add that later. Should have it by the end of next week.

I slept in my NX night before last and then lounged in it and read a book after the sun came up and kept congratulating myself on my decision to get a clark. I'll bet you will too!
But I have a suggestion...spend only $20 more than the XL and get their largest, the vertex tarp. 2 weeks ago while camping it rained 24 hours, on and off while I was out in the woods. And I was so glad I paid a little extra and got the vertex tarp, not only for hammock coverage but for extra living space when it was pouring. For instance, it gives you more room to cook while you are in a modified porch mode, ie. porch mode with one end a little higher than the other so the rain rolls off. And that little more space in all directions to move around some makes a difference.....
I was thinking of doing that, might be useful to have a bit of extra space. Thanks for the tip.

I wish I would have done so. I bought the standard (big mistake), and now I've had to purchase a new tarp (darn): OES MacCat Ultra.
I haven't had the opportunity to try the larger tarp yet, but I am very much looking forward to doing so.
I just wish I would have had the foresight to buy larger earlier.
Called Clark and they let me upgrade to the Vertex for $20. Woohoo.

Great choice! I have the Vertex tarp with my NX250 and the extra coverage is awesome.
Thanks. My wife was going a bit crazed over all the time I spent doing research on hammocks. And Clarks customer service was great, a real pleasure to deal with.

Rained like crazy a few weeks ago while out, but when it broke, I took a couple of pics of the vertex in action...look at all that room to cook, etc under that thing. And if it looked like rain AND wind, I'd of just lowered it down about a foot and tightened it up...
I don't have a backyard, I live in a townhouse community with no yard space. I figure I will hang it in the bedroom or something like that, but there is scout camp I can go to that is nearby and they will probably let me practice hanging it.
