    New Down Pillow

Four of these landed on my doorstep this evening...

    IMG_0056 (Medium).jpg

So I took one outside, slit it open and stuffed the 14"x20" Argon pillow I made last night...

    IMG_0058 (Medium).JPG

Got too much in it and had to pull 1.5oz (two compacted handfuls) back out...

    IMG_0059 (Medium).JPG

It took about 6oz of down to make it firm.

And no, I don't recommend the "take it outside, slit and stuff" method of down transfer unless you like the "it's snowing" effect.

6.3 oz of down + 0.3 oz of Argon and thread = 6.6 oz.

    It's a heavy luxury.

How well does it compress? Oh and how much did those pillows set you back?

I got another two a couple of days later for about the same.

I figured on ~30oz of down per pillow based on this thread...https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...0&postcount=18

I think the best way to pack this pillow would be to put it in the bottom of your pack without a stuff sack. It would fill the first 1" of a pack.

I would love to know what the real oz count is, I keep stopping at $140 on my bids, because I am estimating lower oz counts per pillow.

Maybe I need to up my bids.

    I need 19 oz of 800 ASAP.

Seems like we may have been bidding against each other.

By my scales, each pillow weighs 31-32 oz. I'm guessing there is at least 28 oz of down in the med/firm king pillows I received.

The tags say they were made by Downlite in Ohio for Bloomingdale.

Excellent to know my math comes up with

    28*2 = 56

    179.50/56 $3.20 an oz.

    I likes those numbers.

    Thanks!!
