I've never seen quite a match for that! So is that 7" loft in the single/top layer? 7" on top of you? If so, what is that, like minus 60F if drafts can be sealed out?

WOW,,, some major loft happening there.
Fabric + 78 ounces of fill....what does it weigh.... 5 1/2 pounds?
I've gone to find myself. If I get back before I return, make sure I stay here.
When I see lovers' names carved into a tree, I don't think it's cute. I think it's strange how so many people take knives on a date.

You should probabley do a field test before facing the Frozen Butt . Hey how about Hoist Lake Jan. 10 . Id love to see that thing .
I'd like to, it will just depend on scheduling. The boss might not approve of back to back trips. It will at least be getting several nights worth of testing in the backyard if I can't make it. I did test it out sleeping in the recliner last night -- very comfy.

I've never been down below about 0°F but am wondering if you now need to use a vapor barrier with such a lofty TQ? At extreme temps will not the moisture generated by your body now be trapped and condense inside the bag?

Yes, I always use vapor barrier clothing for sleeping in extreme cold. I have a couple of these, that I like for sleeping: www.realsaunasweatsuit.com. If I'm not taking a pulk, I'll use a set of light weight silnylon rain gear. The one issue I'll need to test to see it how much condensation I get from my breath overnight on the giant wall of down just below my chin. I have a balaclava with a heat exchange that I plan on testing to see if that reduces the moisture output.
If that doesn't work I may have to add a Shug style frost bib, or fleece protector at the top to collect the condensation.

That's one behemoth bad boy top quilt!
Love it
The heat exchanger mask will help BTW, I reckon it reduces my breath condensation by about a half.
Fantastic job on your quilt.
