Trip Report Southern Illinois Hike and Hang

A quick couple of pictures of the overnight Deutschland Sprott and I had at the Garden of the Gods in Southern IL. There had originally been about 6 of us planning to attend, but it dwindled to just the two of us. we had an excellent day walking around the "Garden" and also on some of the River to River trail. The weather Friday was 65 and overcast!.... Rain started about 8 pm Friday night and last time it rained that much, Noah built a boat. Sprott had some water issues, in his hammock at about 3:30 am and I had a river running under my set up. but we managed to hold out until 6:30 am, when we bugged out and decided it was enough for the weekend.
Hopefully a short video coming soon

Awsome, I knew it would be good. Don't get me wrong, I love nice weather and perfect hanging conditions; I'm getting old enough to like the easy path once in a while but truth be told, there's a certain satisfaction that can only be had when you go up against less than ideal weather or circumstances. Makes you feel like you did something.

It's the difference between being given something and having worked hard for it. I look forward to hiking with you Deutschland Sprott; perhaps you'd consider making the drive to join us at Hawn State Park in March? I'd imagine it's a long drive for you but if you'd be willing Pyro and I can try to turn this into a 3 day trip and show you the best spots in Hawn. Something to think about.

    Looked like a great trip.

Are those Altra LP 1.5? If so how do you like them? I have been pondering getting a pair, although the hold up is I don't have a wide foot (even splayed out) and the wide toe box gives me pause as I might have a little too much slop up front.
