Howdy to those that like to 'hang-around'...

I'm not quite a 'newbie' but I am new to this forum. My moniker is the same on several forums - so if you see my 'mountainmanindy' or just ~indy for short... than 'yep - it's probably me'...

The monker itself.. well... I got started learning stuff from folks in and around the 'Smokies'.. than a lot more from folks in the 'Rockies'... and then continuing my knowledge from folks in the 'Sierra Nevadas'... so thus the reason for the 'mountain-man'... part. I was born and raised in Indiana... and have enjoyed tromping around archeological areas where ever I've been - as a person that's interested and not one of the 'diggers' per se. It's interesting to see places that started it all... from whence we learned things... around the globe.

My special interest is of course the 'mountain man' era... thus the name...

Got interested in 'hanging around'.. because it's nice to get off the ground

. It's even nicer when it's comfortable...

Edit- forgot to add that this is an awesome group! I 'hung-around' as a HF visitor for several years until I recently joined. These guys have lots of know-how, know-to, and know-not-to and they're willing to share.

Welcome aloft from SC. Your going to love this informative forum. There are some fantastic folks here, who love to share information and will let you check out their gear at local hangs. Good luck to you, and I recommend you attend a local hang as soon as possible to see lots of gear and plenty of new ideas.
