Well here it goes. I am extremely new to this lifestyle and to be honest with you all I have no gear at this moment. I seen Captain Berz on you tube explaining his hammock outings and found it to be interesting. After doing some searching I came across this really crazy and wacky guy's channel (Shug) and became immediately entertained lol as I'm sure you all fell under his spell.
A little about me: I am a 32 y/o veteran who served 7 years in my beloved Marine Corps. I enjoy the outdoors and taking in what God created, just don't have the time I would like being a full time nursing student. I have a family 5 and plan on doing family adventures to get the kids back into nature and away from their electronics, as well as solo and group trips. Right now as I gather the main essentials to "hang" I hope to gain a great group of friends that wouldn't mind if a noob tags along on some outings. My goal is to have what I need by spring. Keep up the awesome videos those of you who post on you tube as it does really help with spreading the word to this new world as well as giving tons of tips. Being an Infantryman weight was never an option when we do 2 weeks in the field, as we had to bring everything from socks, food, water, to our ammunition and weapon systems. I don't know how to pack light lol, but gathering tips and tricks from you. Now I am just rambling, take care God speed and Semper Fi.
