I too concur on celebrating our cottage vendors. It is kinda like working for family on here for them. We are right here)))))
And where would we buy our specialized gear? I for one don't care to DIY much anymore.
Just in case forget...the vendors do get out to backpack and such. Here is a wee video of a trip I had the joy to go on with Stormcrow/Adam/Quilt Slave.
He was delivering and testing a new winter uq...http://youtu.be/m97x85KxkvI
Stormcrow truly cares about the end product as he sure can engage in some quilt-speak.
And I can say with validity that he is a wonderful human being.
    Seriously.

Well put, Yoda. Although I've only ever ordered DIY supplies from them, namely, Scott, I have read (and continue to read) all the reviews from those that have purchased hammocks, quilts, tarps, suspension and, of course, Dutchware. It is evident that quality and customer service is jointly first and foremost with all the vendors here. I'm not saying they're perfect--just darn close. And as you state they often pour their entirety into their products and businesses.

Also, I think you hit on the key thing though; take time for the family! That is what is most important!

    Merry Christmas all!

Hail, hail, cottage vendors! I like that it's not just an anonymous experience with cottage vendors - I know Dutch and Adam and Papasmurf and Jacksrbetter and 2QZQ. And those that I haven't met, I feel like you're family 'cause of all the time you've spent with me on the phone, through e-mail, answering my stupid questions.

Beats the heck out of your average commercial transaction.

The hardest part of being a cottage vender is convincing people thatch roofs are low maintenance.

Thanks! If someone have told me a few years back what I'd be doing for a good part of my evening, I'd have thought they were crazy. I've come to know and make many new friends and hope to make many, many more. Hope all here on HF has a very Merry Christmas and a really Happy New Year!
