Triangle Thingies measurements

I trying to make some triangle thingies but I cant get the measurements right. I'm using a full length underquilt and a 10 foot hammock. Anyone have some info? Thanks

13" seems to be common for all 3 sides. You don't need cloth to make them - I just use 4ft of cord and tie knots so it's a triangle. Then you can play with the lengths of the sides easier.

experimented over the weekend and really surprised at the difference those buggers make. Huge difference in comfort and warmth factor.

used simple cordage and varied the length and it was much better with the thingy's

So I just finished stuffing and sewing the end of an Underquilts.com Lewis shell, and started building a suspension.

I wanted to try using Triangle Thingies on this Full Length UQ, and I have built a pair with Riptop and grosgain, but I had it in my head I wanted to make some out of amsteel.

I figured they would be lite-er and pack small-er. But then I started reading posts about amsteel Triangle thingies, and how since the thingies only have to handle about 10lbs of pull amsteel is a waste of material.

So while on a con call today, I had both some polyester braided line and a bag of Dutch Underquilt hooks, within reach. And since I am usually quite bored on these calls, even if I am the presenter, I started to make something.

I just did an over hand on a bite to make a fake figure eight.

Take the line and start measuring

1" mark a dot, this is there to tell you where the knot in the line will be.
6" mark a dot, another 6" mark a dot this is the first loop
12" dot, 6"dot this a 12 inch side and the second loop
12" dot. 6" dot this is the third loop
6" dot, 1" dot this with the first 1" and 6" will make up the third 12 inch side and show where to tie the line

I slid the Dutch Underquilt hooks on the line before I tied each loop
