It's an a-sym like the Hennesseys.

The only thing asymmetric about every commercial hammock but one is the location of optional tie out points on what I call the gunwales of the hammock. Tie outs, symmetric or asymmetric, give the illusion of space for the body, which disappears when you get into it. Additional space above your body, between it and a bug net remains, and the tie outs may even be necessary for the net to not droop onto you body or otherwise touch you.
The exceptions are Warbonnet hammocks, some of whose beds really are asymmetric, with additional fabric for a "foot-box" on one side.
Asymmetric may also be a patentable term of art, Tom Hennessey owning the patent.
From the DIY side, engineer and HF member,Knotty, suggested that extra fabric at the gunwale of the hammock where diagonally placed legs would lay, could be taken in by the simple device of a draw cord sewn into the hem. When implemented, that is usually done in an asymmetric manner.
The previous post misses several important points that should be clarified.
The Darien UL hammock is a gathered end hammock that starts with a simple rectangular shaped body. It features an asym net that helps form the shape of the hammock.
Notice that the hammock above does not have any tie-outs at all. It is an asym because of the shape of the netting and not because of the tie-outs.
Also notice that the net is stretched taut and does not sag down against the occupant.
The photo above shows a completely unoccupied hammock and yet is still an asym shape.
As you can see, It's not an illusion of an asym shape that disappears once you get into it.
The overall hammock is shaped to match the final position of the occupant so you can see that there's not much extra fabric anywhere and little difference in shape when empty.

I'm not unhappy to stand corrected, and especially so by the designer and maker.
Hammocks mostly get differentiated by major type, layers, and netting; and then by the insistence on praiseworthiness by owners.
If I go to the major sources of consumer info, the makers' own web pages, I will not find claims and methods as clear as the important ones Papasmurf just made here. They are both important for comfort.
