Grip Clips wear on tarp

Would leaving the clips on all the time damage the tarp. Or would it be best to take them off when the tarp comes down?

Not sure on the grip clips, but I use Dutch's Tato version, which seems to be very easy on tarp fabric. I do not leave them on when I pack up, because I would usually want to move them a bit for each individual set up, depending on tree selection and weather expectations.

We have no report of wear from grip clips.
