How to attach ridgeline with gathered end and straps

I want to try adding a ridgeline to my diy hammock. Originally I did knots in the fabric then sheetbend but as I have gotten better with the thread injector I got brave enough to do channels on the ends. I even added knotty mods. I am using straps to attach hammock. How do I install a ridgeline at the gathered ends? What goes to what? I saw a vid that explained it but I can't find it now. I don't have rings or buckles just straps. Also. I don't have amsteel but I did find some poly rope cord to use for the ridgeline.

Is the strap sewn into the channel you created? or do you have a cord through the channel?

If you do a ridge line with a spliced loop in the ends you can do a larks head knot over the hammock end. If the strap has a sewn loop in the end you can pass the loop end through your channel, slip the ridge line loop over the strap then connect the strap loops

What he's describing would look something like this, only with the lark's head going through the channel instead of under the whipping.

I just ran some poly cord through the channel and cinched the strap behind the bump or whatever you call the wad of material at the end.

Make a loop in both ends of the ridgeline, run it inside the "cinched" strap and then run the strap through the loop in the ridgeline. Similar to this...

XTrekker, I like the simplicity of your method. Thanks for sharing that video.
