Hey there. From near Goderich.
Hey there. From near Goderich.
Thanks everyone. I'll give one of those blue pads a try next time I go camping. And thanks for the invite to the January hang but I'm going to have to pass. I've never gone camping in the winter so I don't have warm enough gear and I can't afford to buy any right now. I'm defiantly going to check out Valens conservation area this summer.
Lots of good spots to hang near North Bay. Heck you're only a half hour from the Kiosk access to Algonquin with bazillion of trees to hang from...
The only way I hang in the winter is when I'm in the south, the deep south!!
Welcome to the forum from just down the road from North Bay.
Welcome from Kingston, Ontario. Even if you don't sleep over at Valens in January, you might still want to come for a few hours, meet everybody and check out some rigs for ideas on staying warm. Hammock people are very friendly and helpful and I'm sure we could even hook you up with a meal (or two).
A lotta ins... lotta outs... lotta what-have-you's
Welcome. Getting to be a busy community in Southern Ontario.
My first few trips were my old sleeping bad and blue foam. Worked fine to just below freezing.
Hi Bear,
Welcome from Toronto.
I started out with a thermarest during the spring-fall seasons and using a folded wool blanket on top of the pad also helped.
Hopefully we'll see you at one of our EGL hangs.
