no sense pushing it if you're not having fun. That's one of the upsides to solo hiking; you can come or go at your liesure!

    Good vid!

Sometimes jumping on a trip and getting out to those austere brown and grey December woods can cloud you with melancholy. I've been there. Tough to feel at ease. Maybe the feeling passes if you find the joyful camp spot.
You did right trusting your gut sense. Nice to see your woods.

Yes sir I totally agree. I'm not a social creature... I normally cherish my moments of solitude... Even as a kid I would be running around solo making little shelters and whatnot. Always felt safe and at home there... Something about the trip just felt off this time. Thank you for watching

First off, congrats on breaking your low temp record! Hope your finger heals up right nice. A big part of why I did bail was I couldn't find a joyful place to set up the hammock. Everything just felt oppressive... A weird and very rare feeling... There was a spot I've hung a number of times further North, but I really didn't want to stray that far from my intenerary... Hoping to return to the trail again in the very near future. My "social batteries" are very much drained from all the holidays and some personal battles I've been fighting... The trail is very much calling my name...
