With other closed off designs, you can't do that. The down wont shift inadvertently if that is what you are worried about.

As far as the fill power of the down, 850 will simply be lighter than lesser fill powers (as well as a bit of bulk). 700 is still considered high fill power, and the difference in weight will be only around an ounce.
Thanks for the feedback. That is really what i was wondering about the baffles so that won't have to weigh into my decision as much now. thanks!

    My reasoning

Thanks again for the responses. I have about a week before I need to make my decision. Both quilt makers seem like great people. Here are my thoughts:

UCG 20* Bag w/no overfill vs EE Revelation 30* with 2 oz overfill

Insulation: 850 Down vs 850 Down = Tie

Fabric: 10D DWR Nylon vs 15 DWR Nylon = EE Rev

Construction: 19 horizontal chambers vs KARO step baffles = ???

Temp Rating: 20* vs 30* w/2 oz. overfill = UCG

    Length: 78" vs 78" = Tie

    Width: 55" vs 58" = EE Rev

Weight: 24 oz vs 22.5 oz = EE Rev

    Price w/shipping: $305 vs $300 = EE Rev

Am I missing anything you all can think of?

With the above thinking the EE Rev beats the UGQ TF in 4 of 8 categories with the UGQ only clearly winning 1, but it is one that is not a deal breaker for the EE Rev.

Edit: I forgot to mention color choices. Judging by their two websites, the UGQ is definitely the winner here.
