Looking forward to pictures and results. One additional thought, do you use a vapor barrier or vapor barrier clothing?

Not at the moment. I'm what you would consider a cold sleeper. I don't give off much in the way of moisture. I am planning on laying my sheepskin under me, more for comfort than warmth.
I've been outside today, and it is freaking COLD out there!! I don't even want to go out, never mind sleep out there! Those are some mighty nice quilts, if anything is going to keep you warm, those will.
+1 on the sheepskin. I put one between my UQ and hammock last fall (see what a wuss I am?) and loved not only the comfort, but the extra warmth too.
Good luck with your hang, try not to freeze to death, looking forward to your report!

I'm just getting ready to go out and out the stand together. Didn't seem too bad when I went out to lug I. The car this morning, but that was only for 30 seconds.
Finally got the bugs worked out of he underquilt late last night. Got everything set up in the driveway about an hour ago. -29C with a -35 windchill at the moment and still dropping. Should be a good test.
Success! Apparently the low hit -34C last night. My thermometer was reading -29 this morning. Was nice and warm through the night, including my feet. Clothing work was a wool/polyester shirt, under armour 3.0 leggings, wool socks, a smartwool balaclava, fleece neck warmer, and toque. I had my Baffin Island camp boots with me, one stuck under my knee and one on the foot that was pressed to the end of the TQ. Very happy with the results.
that's awesome! You still won't catch me out there though, I got my hammock set up in my nice warm bedroom
are you going to try again tonight with all the snow we're supposed to get?
Debi
No. If I spend too much time out there I'll find myself sleeping out there permanently.
