very nice piece of work.
very nice piece of work.
Great looking piece of gear there
I also have season specific tarps, and tie outs for use with mittens
I would also like to know the material source, was 1 width of fabric used for each side?

Thanks Tbuck
Thanks TZ It makes a big difference with the larger loops when I'm dealing with thicker cord and knots in mitts or cold fingers.
The fabric for the doors came from here; http://www.scandinavianoutdoorstore....to-category-en Its the same material the Vihe Looe is made from.
The main tarp material came from a supplier who has shut down-it's a little more waterproof at 2000mm but basically the same.
Looks great, could use a tarp like this
That is a fantastic looking piece of work. Love the stitch work! Thanks for posting.

That really is a great bit of work, thanks for sharing. What do you think the tarp cost in materials / time? I was dead excited seeing another uk DIY project, did u make it here and have the material shipped over?
Thanks Onfire
Cost was £35 for the fabric, it took 2 full days to get it together though as everything is re-inforced. It's the longest tarp build I've done.
Most of it was UK sourced but the door fabric came from Finland.
All handmade in Northamptonshire.
Looks like one serious shelter. Hopefully you'll get to try it out in the right conditions. Winter so far have been warm and wet up north, one exception is at the border towards Finland. Where temperature down to -30c have been reported.
If I die, my biggest fear is that my wife will sell my gear for what I told her I paid for it.
I am learning from my mistakes, so I can make better and bigger mistakes.
Wow! Beautiful job, and that Finnish shelter is pretty interesting as well. Something like that might be nice for canoe camping.
Good luck,
