    Knots for Zing-It & Lash-it?

I've never used such thin line before. A standard taut-line hitch slides, even if using extra hitches. What's a good tensioning knot for these cords?

I find a bowline with 2 half-hitches hold fine for loops.

A Double Fisherman's Knot holds two such cords together, but I cheat and put a few drops of Super Glue on the knot after melting the ends down close with a flame. Old SCUBA-diver and Caving trick for when your life depends on a fixed knot. That, and a back-up line. One is none, two is one and three is bare minimum. But our fall is only 18 inches...

I avoid all knots with these lines. I use splices to form loops and Dutchware tarp flyz for high tension taught-line replacement and line locs for tie outs.

I imagine you are not suspended from zing-it, so if it failed you wouldn't drop at all, correct?

I do what you do, make knots with backup hitches to prevent sliding. Also, after the coating wears off, it becomes significantly less slippery, such that even 3-loops prussiks hold.

splicing works best, for permanent loops

DUTCH has some really nice little clips for adjustable/temporary fastening

both of the above are too simple not to do/use

Prussics, Clove hitches, Double fisherman's knots, on Dyneema maybe.

Those work well with most cordage and are fine in any application that does not require structural integrity. (You don't want to hang from it).

Tarp RL's and tie-outs should be fine. You actually want that cordage to fail before tarp material is damaged, in actual use.

Learn to splice though, if you can. Splicing does not degrade the rating of the cordage, as dramatically as knots do, and it's just cooler.

Amsteel doesn't even take knots very well, too slick. It's such super strong stuff, it would almost be a sin to weaken it with a poor knot.
